Se conoce internacionalmente como <\/span><b><i>Vehicle Identification Number,<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> y puede ser considerado como el equivalente a una huella dactilar en los humanos. <\/span>Conocido como n\u00famero VIN del coche, o&nbsp;VIN por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, es una secuencia estandarizada de 17 caracteres que combina letras y n\u00fameros, y que <\/span><b>proporciona la informaci\u00f3n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> espec\u00edfica que <\/span><b>permite identificar al veh\u00edculo<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> de forma individualizada.<\/span> Saber qu\u00e9 es este n\u00famero es fundamental para la identificaci\u00f3n del veh\u00edculo en cualquier inspecci\u00f3n t\u00e9cnica de veh\u00edculos o tr\u00e1mite legal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Historia del bastidor de coche<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div><center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/02fHFzUDf5Q\" width=\"720\" height=\"405\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/center><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La idea de proporcionarle un n\u00famero de identificaci\u00f3n \u00fanico a cada veh\u00edculo a motor que fuese saliendo de las f\u00e1bricas, comenz\u00f3 a implementarse a mediados del siglo pasado. Algunos fabricantes pensaron que ser\u00eda conveniente incorporar a sus coches un c\u00f3digo que aportase una cierta informaci\u00f3n, como el a\u00f1o de producci\u00f3n, el modelo, la marca y algunos otros datos.&nbsp;<\/span>Este n\u00famero tambi\u00e9n facilita la reparaci\u00f3n del coche al identificarlo con precisi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Desde entonces, el concepto fue repetido y aplicado por casi todos los fabricantes, en casi todos los pa\u00edses. Pero exist\u00eda un inconveniente: no hab\u00eda uniformidad de criterios en cuanto a formato, por lo que, por una parte era confuso y, por la otra, no se estaba aprovechando al m\u00e1ximo su potencial.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Eso cambi\u00f3 a partir de 1981, cuando <\/span><b>el formato se estandariz\u00f3 internacionalmente<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, siguiendo las l\u00edneas establecidas por <\/span><b>la normativa ISO 3779, de 1979 y la normativa ISO 3780, de 1980<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. As\u00ed naci\u00f3 este c\u00f3digo denominado <\/span><b><i>Vehicle Identification Number<\/i><\/b><b> (VIN)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, que en Espa\u00f1a conocemos como n\u00famero de bastidor del coche.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00bfQu\u00e9 informaci\u00f3n contiene el n\u00famero de bastidor?<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En la actualidad, el n\u00famero de bastidor se basa en la norma ISO 3779:2009 que determina su contenido y estructura. Como mencionamos antes, contiene 17 caracteres que resultan de la combinaci\u00f3n de letras may\u00fasculas y n\u00fameros.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ninguna secuencia contiene las letras I (i), O (o) y Q (q), las cuales se omiten para evitar la confusi\u00f3n con los n\u00fameros 1 y 0. Tampoco incluye la letra \u00d1. La secuencia no tiene espacios de separaci\u00f3n ni usa s\u00edmbolos especiales. La estructura del n\u00famero de bastidor del coche se desglosa de la siguiente manera:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><b>Origen<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Los primeros 3 caracteres corresponden al n\u00famero internacional de identificaci\u00f3n del fabricante, tambi\u00e9n llamado c\u00f3digo mundial del fabricante. La primera posici\u00f3n identifica al pa\u00eds de fabricaci\u00f3n, la segunda a la marca y la tercera a la f\u00e1brica o divisi\u00f3n de la compa\u00f1\u00eda.&nbsp;<\/span>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En el siguiente cuadro observamos la nomenclatura asignada a cada pa\u00eds:<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure 400;\">: podemos notar aqu\u00ed <\/span><b>las diferencias que existen entre el c\u00f3digo VIN europeo y el norteamericano<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. En el formato norteamericano, m\u00e1s espec\u00edfico, de los siguientes 6 caracteres, los 5 primeros se refieren a la serie, tipo de motor y acabados; la sexta cifra contiene el n\u00famero secuencial de control. En el formato europeo, el n\u00famero de serie del coche puede abarcar desde la cuarta posici\u00f3n, y hasta la novena; sin embargo, queda a criterio del fabricante si ocupa los espacios sobrantes con letras y n\u00fameros adicionales.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><b>Secci\u00f3n de identificaci\u00f3n del veh\u00edculo<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: el resto de las posiciones se destina a datos m\u00e1s espec\u00edficos de la fabricaci\u00f3n del coche. La posici\u00f3n 10 se\u00f1ala el a\u00f1o del modelo, la und\u00e9cima posici\u00f3n indica la planta donde se fabric\u00f3, y los caracteres finales indican el n\u00famero de secuencial style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00bfPara qu\u00e9 sirve el n\u00famero de bastidor de un coche?<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Como hemos se\u00f1alado ya, el n\u00famero de bastidor sirve para identificar, de modo individual, el veh\u00edculo. En la pr\u00e1ctica eso se traduce en la posibilidad de conocer el historial completo del coche: cada reparaci\u00f3n, cada mantenimiento, a cada cu\u00e1ntos kil\u00f3metros se ha llevado para su revisi\u00f3n t\u00e9cnica; adem\u00e1s de si ha estado involucrado en accidentes o hechos delictivos, la fecha de su primera matriculaci\u00f3n y mucho m\u00e1s.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&nbsp;Pero una de las cosas m\u00e1s importantes es que, debido a que el c\u00f3digo troquelado en el coche debe coincidir con el se\u00f1alado en la documentaci\u00f3n del coche, y va ligado a la matr\u00edcula del veh\u00edculo, ello nos permite comprobar si un coche ha sido fabricado de forma legal y si ha sido comercializado y adquirido de forma l\u00edcita. En <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carglass.es\/\">Carglass<\/a>, adem\u00e1s, lo utilizamos para identificar la luna que necesita tu veh\u00edculo cuando <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carglass.es\/reparacion-lunas\">debemos sustituirla<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As\u00ed pues este n\u00famero es crucial para comprar un coche de segunda mano, ya que permite comprobar que no ha sido robado ni tiene historial irregular.
